Below is an overview of what some of the new Social Apps will be like on Facebook.
Again, some of you will complain that it’s making things easier for stalkers, or you don’t want to share all that stuff. Well, guess what…cool…you don’t HAVE to use the apps.
For those of you who have already discovered the social network of GetGlue, then you can sort of see how Facebook is integrating a similar experience, but on steroids.
Sharing what you watch, what you read, what you listen to, what you cook, your extracurricular activities, etc. and learning what your friends are enjoying (and therefore discovering new things for yourself) WITHOUT IT HAVING TO CLUTTER YOUR MAIN NEWS FEED. Ah yes…that’s why Facebook split the more “minor” things you’re doing on Facebook into that ticker on the right. Is it starting to make sense now?
WORD OF MOUTH if a powerful experience. An advertisement (or Netflix) can tell you all day long that you should watch a particular movie & you will most likely dismiss the “recommendation”. However, if you see that your friend (or several of your friends) have watched a movie or TV show, etc. then you’re probably much more likely to give it a try yourself.
Facebook is about being SOCIAL. It’s quite simple…if you don’t want to share it, then DON’T.
